Getting started
It's a trading journal built specifically for futures prop traders. Beyond logging trades, it tracks your eval and funded accounts, handles payouts and profit splits, watches your drawdown, and turns your history into stats that tell you which setups actually make money — all kept separate per strategy.
No. Almanac is a journaling and record-keeping tool for tracking your own trades — it doesn't give trading advice, signals, or recommendations, and nothing in the app or on this site is financial, investment, or tax advice. Trading futures carries a substantial risk of loss and isn't suitable for everyone; past performance doesn't guarantee future results. You alone are responsible for your trading decisions. See our Terms for the full disclaimer.
Anyone trading a funded or evaluation account with a prop firm — especially futures traders juggling multiple accounts, drawdown rules and payout splits. If you've outgrown a spreadsheet and a generic stock journal doesn't understand prop firm life, this is for you.
Three steps: create your account, set up your first strategy, then log your first trade. The full walk-through lives on the Instructions page.
No. Almanac runs in your web browser, so you just log in and go. On your phone, use Share → Add to Home Screen — it installs with the Almanac icon and opens full-screen like a native app, no app store needed, and you're always on the latest version.
No — by design. Almanac never touches your trading account: no broker login, no API keys, nothing to hand over. You log each trade yourself in seconds, which keeps your credentials safe, keeps you clear of any firm rules about third-party account access, and makes the act of journaling part of your discipline. Almanac can't place, block or affect a trade — it shows you the truth about your trading, and the discipline stays yours.
Not at all. Logging a trade can be as quick as a ticker, a direction and a P&L — everything else (confluences, screenshots, videos, mood, exit behavior) is optional and there when you want deeper analysis. You can start simple and add detail as you go.
Devices & access
Yes. Almanac is designed to work on any screen — phone, tablet, laptop or desktop. Log a trade from your phone right after you take it, then dig into the stats on a bigger screen later.
Yes — your journal is tied to your account, not your device. Log in anywhere and everything's there: the same trades, accounts, payouts and stats, always up to date.
Strategies
Each strategy keeps its own trades, accounts, habits, calendar and stats — completely separate from your other strategies. Switch between them from the picker under the logo. Nothing mixes, so a scalping strategy's numbers never pollute your swing strategy's.
Yes — everything is yours to define. Add your own entry types, confluences and tickers with the "+ Custom" buttons, and edit or remove them anytime, so your journal matches exactly how you trade.
Only two things are shared across every strategy: your payouts and your expenses (since those are about your business as a whole, not one setup). Everything else — trades, accounts, habits, calendar, stats — stays per-strategy.
Accounts & prop firms
Yes — Almanac is firm-agnostic. You set each account's starting balance, drawdown type, payout threshold and profit split, so it adapts to Topstep, Apex, Take Profit Trader, MFFU, or any other firm's rules.
Mark each account as an Eval (the challenge you're trying to pass) or Funded (a live payout account). Evals focus on hitting the target without breaching; funded accounts add a profit split and payout tracking. When you pass an eval, "Graduate to Funded" converts it and asks for the split.
Set the drawdown amount and type per account and Almanac tracks your peak balance and how much buffer you have left as you log trades — so you can see at a glance when an account is getting close to its limit, before you breach it.
Each funded account has a profit split % (e.g. the firm keeps 20%). When you log a payout from that account, Almanac automatically deducts the firm's cut, shows you your take-home, and rolls the firm's share into a running "Prop Firm Take" total — so your real, post-split income is always accurate.
You log a payout against a funded account and enter the gross amount. The app applies that account's profit split, previews your estimated tax and net take-home as you type (using the tax rate you set — estimates only, confirm with your accountant), lowers the account balance, and keeps a full payout history with per-row breakdowns. Payouts also have a full lifecycle — mark one Pending when you request it (the amount is reserved so you can't double-request it), then one tap marks it Paid or Denied when the firm answers.
Log it as Denied with the reason (consistency rule, minimum trading days, news trading…). Denied payouts are kept for your records but never count as income or taxes — the money never reached you. And if the firm confiscated profit when denying, enter what they took and the account balance adjusts to exactly that. Your numbers always match reality.
Logging & stats
Ticker, session, entry type, position size, P&L, R:R, the confluences that were present, your exit behavior (BE → SL, SL → TP, and more), screenshots, videos, and notes. Log only what you want — the essentials take seconds, the deeper analysis is there when you need it.
Yes, per strategy. Add your own entry types, confluences, tickers and sessions, and they stick around on every future trade. Each custom confluence becomes a Yes/No field that's tracked in your stats, so you can measure exactly how much it helps.
Win rate, net P&L, average R:R, your best and worst setups (grouped by entry-type combination), confluence impact (win rate with vs. without each one), exit-behavior analysis, and an equity curve. The point is to show you what's working and what to cut.
A setting that decides how wins are counted. By trade label uses the Win/Loss/BE you tag each trade with. By actual P&L counts any net-profitable trade as a win — even ones you marked break-even — which matches how some platforms calculate it. Switch anytime in Settings; every win-rate number updates to match.
Yes — attach chart screenshots and videos to any trade, journal entry or daily recap, so you can review the exact setup or rewatch your recap later. Images open full-size and videos play inline.
Billing & plans
One full-featured plan, billed $20/month or $200/year (that's two months free). No tiers and no per-account limits — every plan includes unlimited strategies and accounts. See Pricing.
Yes — every plan starts with a 7-day free trial with full access to everything, no limits. After that it's $20/month or $200/year. Cancel any time before the trial ends and you won't be charged.
They're the same product. Monthly is the flexible option; yearly saves you $40 a year (two months free) if you know you're in it for the long haul. You can start monthly and switch to yearly whenever.
Yes — cancel whenever you like and you'll keep access until the end of your billing period. No long-term contract and no cancellation fee.
Your journal isn't deleted the moment you cancel — it's kept so that if you come back, everything's still there. You can also export your full journal any time before you go. It's only permanently removed if you delete your account.
Your data & privacy
You do — always. Your journal is yours: you can export it any time, and we never sell or share it.
Yes. Export your full journal as a backup file, pull your trades into a spreadsheet, and generate a clean year-end tax summary. Nothing is locked in.
Never. We don't sell, rent or share your trading data with anyone. It exists to help you trade better — that's it.
Deleting your account permanently removes your journal and personal details. It's irreversible, so export anything you want to keep first.
